Little is more energizing than young artists stretching their wings. The current show at Eyebeam Gallery in Chelsea display residents'/fellows' creations, all speaking to the way that art influences social spaces. CHiKA's sculptural light pieces were most striking as they created both structure and dynamism with the arrays. The size of the gallery allows the works to BREATH as the viewers wander.

MOVING OUT
It seems like I've been sorting and sifting for weeks. But besides figuring out what I'm going to do with all my crap, closing accounts and proper wrapping up must also happen. When moving, don't forget to:
-Cancel utilities like:
ConEd 1-800-75-CONED
National Grid 1-718-643-4050
Verizon 1-800-verizon
Time Warner Cable 1-800-892-2253
-Change your address with USPS
-Need more boxes? Hit up your nearest liquor store. If you're moving books, many small boxes are better than large ones.
-Any mattresses placed in the street for disposal (in NYC) must be bagged
-Take a few minutes every now and again to peacefully gather your thoughts and relish in the great changes that can come from moving!

Save 5pointz!
5pointz is NYC's most incredible site for graffiti art, organized and curated by graffiti artists. There is currently a push to make 5Pointz a NYC Landmark in order to stave off its destruction to make room for MORE CONDOS in Long Island City Queens.
Go check it out before they smash it down, and sign the petition to make it a landmark!

Tom Petty at Beacon Theater, NYC
Themes of starting anew stood out most of all among the songs Tom Petty played on last night. I am finding affirmation of my plans all over. Basically, Tom Petty is a badass and that's all I'm going to say about that. The Beacon is a trip of a venue with lots of original art deco decor and ginormous gilt statues.
More after the JUMP!
